ILM: Hey Joran, thanks for taking the time to answer a quick question for our readers. What are your 3 favourite plugins which you use regularly, and why?
Joran: Although it’s difficult to say which are my three favorite plug-ins, here are some that I use frequently.
Izotope Ozone 5
The Ozone 5 is a great plug-in if you know how to handle it. It’s intended to be subtle, not radical. I mainly use the Ozone 5 to give my tracks that bit of extra edge in the high end.
I’m not going to mention any particular plug-in from them here, as they’re all great. Whereas the Ozone 5 is meant to be subtle, the fabfilter plug-ins are meant to be creative with. Before you start tweaking all the knobs, take a listen to the presets first, they are generally super well engineered and will show you the potential of all their plug-ins
Native Instruments Razor
I’ve only started using this plug-in quite recently, but especially for weird-dark basslines its a monster. I like the fact that almost any parameter can be controlled by different envelopes and LFO’s.
ILM: Thanks for the insight Joran!
